One of the most exciting parts about christmas is giving and wrapping up gifts. It’s such joy to see the excitement of people opening their presents. I always like added a little person touch with DIY’s, so over the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing some of my easy go-to DIY’s with you to spread the holiday cheer!
Advent calendars add such a great anticipation to christmas. I’ve sadly never had one before, though I did get a chocolate one from the supermarket for myself this year! The best thing about making one of these is that you can personalize it and buy them tons of small gifts. Make it work for your budget, however cheap or expensive as you want.
Step 1: Gather Materials
Things you’ll need:
- 24 gifts, this can be made of chocolates, candies, books, deodorant cans, toy cars, make up etc., however big or small, cheap or expensive, as long as you can tie it onto the rope.
- Raffia string/ Kraft rope
- Wrapping Paper
- Pen to label
Step 2: Prep the Presents
After wrapping each present individually, label them in order from 1-24. I worked my way up starting with smaller gifts like chocolate, then dotted the better presents at random numbers. Then using the raffia string, tie one present on the end and another present on the other end of the string. Try to hang heavier presents on the same string, evening out the weight.
Step 3: Gather It Up
Then lastly to pull it all together. Holding the middle section of all the strings, grab another separate raffia and tie it around to secure them together. To make it a little more festive, I added this cute solider deco from Ikea.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Sit back and watch you loved ones open each day in excitement!
That’s really it, you have this weekend to gather it’ll all together in time, but you can do it! If you do make one, tag me on Instagram @belindalovelee I would love to see your final creation.
Happy x’mas DIYing!
